The Power of Praise and Worship

Praise - Honors God!

Praise - Undergirds faith!

Praise - Brings deliverance!

Praise - Is the voice of faith!

Praise - Is the language of heaven!

Praise - Sets the stage for God to move!

Praise - Releases the angels to minister!

Praise - Fuels joy, which is your strength!

Praise - Knocks down walls of resistance!

Praise - Stills the enemy and the avenger!

Praise - Dispels darkness and depression!

Praise - Must precede, not follow blessings!

Praise - Gives God the legal right to help you!

Praise - Brings the presence of God onto the scene!

Praise - Is a sure sign of acceptance of the Word of God!

Praise - Is the highway that faith moves its blessings down!

Praise - Is calling those things that be not as though they were!

But you are holy, O you that inhabit the praises of Israel. (Psalm 22:3)

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto your name, O most High:To shew forth your lovingkindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
For you, LORD, have made me glad through your work: I will triumph in the works of your hands.”
(Psalm 92:1-4)

The meaning of Worship and Praise

Worship – In the Hebrew word translation “shachah{” and the Greek word translation “proskune”

[To fall down prostrate, to bow down, crouch, fall down flat, humbly beseech, make or do obeisance, do reverence or to stoop.]

  • Therefore worship means to honor and give respect to a divine being or supernatural power, therefore it requires an object of worship – God
  • God claims worship as His exclusive right. "For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' " (Matthew 4:10).
  • Worship also requires a worshipper. In other words, worship is an action taken by people in giving praise and honor to God.

Praise – [Literally to use (that is, hold out) the hand; to revere or worship (with extended hands); intensively to bemoan (by wringing the hands): give thanks, rejoice; a celebration of thanksgiving for harvest, to kneel; by implication to bless God (as an act of adoration) or congratulate.]

  • Praising God means adoring Him, honoring Him, and exalting Him

The main difference between worship and praise

We worship God for who he is, and praise Him for what he has done.

The benefits of praise and worship

    1. Prepare His Second Coming : First of all, praise and worship are preparing the church and the world for the second coming of Jesus. (Matthew 23:37-39)
    2. His Presence: When you praise and worship God, you are bringing down His presence, because he inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 100:4).
    3. His Power: When you praise and worship God, He manifests his power. (Acts 16:30-31) His power saves, heals, and delivers.
    4. His Glory: When you praise and worship God, the Glory of God comes down. (1 Kings 8:10-11)
    5. His Anointing: When you praise and worship God, the anointing of God descends upon His servants. Because of this they are able to minister more effectively. (II Kings 3:15-16)
    6. His Deliverance: When you praise and worship God, the deliverance power of God comes into play (II Chron 20:1-20). God comes down to deliver His people as they praise and worship Him.
    7. His victory : When you praise and worship God, you will experience God’s glorious victory. (2 CHRONICLES 20:1-24 )
    8. His Revelation: When we praise and worship the Lord , we would receive a revelation of His will and purpose. (2 KINGS 3:1-20)
    9. His Judgement: When we praise and worship the Lord , we would bring down the judgement of God upon the evil doers. We would be able to bind the forces of wickedness from carrying out their destructive activities against us. (PSALM 149:6-9)
    10. His Healing: When we praise and worship the Lord , we will experience healing and miracles in our lives. When we praise and worship the Lord , in the midst of our pain and suffering , the Lord will be moved with compassion on us and He will perform a miracle in our lives. (MATTHEW 8:1-3; 9:18-26; 15:21-28)
