2 Chronicle 20

This chapter recorded how God help King Jehoshaphat Wins the Battle Over Moab and Ammon.

When King Jehoshaphat heard that a mighty army is coming to attack him, Vers 3 tells us that "he was alarmed and resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah"
King Jehoshaphat made a decision to seek God.

He stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the LORD in the front of the new courtyard to pray to God. (Verses 4-13)
He gathered his people to pray to God in unity.

The Lord heard their prayer and thru levite Asaph God spoke to them said :
"This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid ! Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's.Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.' " " (verse 14-17)

King Jehoshaphat and the people bowed before God in worship. He also encouraged all his people to have faith in God. He assigned people to sing praises to God and proclaimed His holiness. As the result, God defeated all their enemies right infront of their eyes.
He put his trust in God and ordered worship and praises to be conducted.

The lesson we can learn from this passage:
  1. God promise to fight for us and praise God He is always triumps.
  2. As believer, we have the Holy Spirit dwell within us to help us when we face struggle or challenge. Our part is to let God fight for us.
  3. How do we let Him fight for us?
  • We need remember God's word said "the battle is not ours but God's".
  • We need to recognise our limitation and humble before God to seek His strength to work through our fear and weakness.
  • We need to be constantly reminded to seek first the kingdom of God and His reighteousness. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us to do so.
  • There are 3 important elements for victory: Fasting, Prayer and Praise.
  • There is power in unity.

God's manna to chew

(God’s salvation and Judgement)

John 3:16-21

16 "God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. 17 God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. 18 People who believe in God's Son are not judged guilty. Those who do not believe have already been judged guilty, because they have not believed in God's one and only Son. 19 They are judged by this fact: The Light has come into the world, but they did not want light. They wanted darkness, because they were doing evil things. 20 All who do evil hate the light and will not come to the light, because it will show all the evil things they do. 21 But those who follow the true way come to the light, and it shows that the things they do were done through God."

John5:22-23

22 In fact, the Father judges no one, but he has given the Son power to do all the judging

23 so that all people will honor the Son as much as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

Eternal Life in Jesus the Son of God

1John 5:10-12

10 Anyone who believes in the Son of God has the truth that God told us. Anyone who does not believe makes God a liar, because that person does not believe what God told us about his Son. 11 This is what God told us: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life, but whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

God chose foolish things to shame the wise

1 Cor. 1:27-30.

27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and he chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 He chose what the world thinks is unimportant and what the world looks down on and thinks is nothing in order to destroy what the world thinks is important. 29 God did this so that no one can brag in his presence. 30 Because of God you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God. In Christ we are put right with God, and have been made holy, and have been set free from sin. 31 So, as the Scripture says, "If people want to brag, they should brag only about the Lord."

Blesssings come thru God’s Wisdom

Proverbs13:13-18

13 Happy is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gets understanding.
14
Wisdom is worth more than silver; it brings more profit than gold.
15 Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you could want is equal to it.
16 With her right hand wisdom offers you a long life, and with her left hand she gives you riches and honor.
17 Wisdom will make your life pleasant and will bring you peace.
18 As a tree produces fruit, wisdom gives life to those who use it, and everyone who uses it will be happy.

Your have Jesu as your personal intercessor

You Have Jesus As Your Personal Intercessor!

Hebrews 4:14-16
14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.15“For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

o According to verse 14, Jesus is your High Priest, and He lives forever to make intercession on your behalf (Hebrews 7:25). This means there is never a moment when Jesus Himself is not interceding for your victory and success.
o Verse 15 tells us as our High Priest, Jesus understands everything you and I will ever face. He can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities. As a father has pity on his children, so the Lord has pity on us
o Jesus is aware of everything you face, and He’s making intercession for you right now. Because Jesus is aware of our infirmities and limitations, He has assumed the role of our Intercessor. As our personal Advocate, Counselor, or Attorney, Jesus pleads our case before the Father and lays claim to our lawful rights.
o Verse 16 says we are to come “boldly unto the throne of grace.” The word “boldly” in the Greek word is “parresia”, which gives the idea of boldness, frankness, forthrightness, and outspokenness. This clearly means God wants you to be very direct about telling Him when you need help! You never have to be timid or fearful about telling the Lord exactly what you are facing and what you need, because He encourages you to speak up and be bold!
o When you come to this wonderful throne of grace, this verse promises that you will “find grace to help in time of need.” The word “time” is the Greek word eukairos, and it describes a welltimed moment, the right time, a convenient time, a suitable time, or an appropriate time. You see, there is no better time for you to approach the Lord boldly than when you have a need. That is an appropriate time for you to be bold with Him and to really express your heart.

Question:
1 What does the verse means “For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.”?
2 What does the bible encourage us to do when facing need?

What You Been Given In Jesus

Look at What You’ve Been Given In Jesus Christ!

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

The word “power” is the Greek word exousia. It describes delegated authority or influence. The day you chose to make Jesus your Lord and Savior is the day He delegated to you the power and authority to become a child of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 declares,
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

The word “new” is from the Greek word kainos, and it describes something that is brand new or recently made. It also carries the idea of something that is superior.
This means when Jesus Christ came into your life, you were made brand, spanking new! The new you is superior to the old you!

Psalm 103:12:
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”

This verse tells you how far your old ways have been removed from you. When Jesus Christ came into your life, He created you to be free from the past, free from the negative effects of your family, and liberated from all former hang-ups.

Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

The word “workmanship.” comes from the Greek word poiema. The word poiema carries the idea of something that is artfully created. Because Paul uses the word poiema to explain what happened when you became a child of God, it emphatically means that on the day you got saved, God put forth His most powerful and creative effort to make you new. Once God was finished making you new, you became a masterpiece, skillfully and artfully created in Christ Jesus.

If you never confess all these good things which Christ have given to those accepted Him as Lord and Savior, then claim all of thems today and your life will be totally changed!
Amen!

Godly Parents

God want us to be godly parents to:

"Discipline your son (and daughter) while there is hope, but do not indulge your angry resentments by undue chastisement and set yourself to his ruin." (Proverbs 19:18)
For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights. (Proverbs 3:12)
He who spares his rod [of discipline] hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines diligently and punishes him early. (Proverbs 13:24)
Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it. (Ephesians 4:29)
The commandments I give you today must be in your hearts. Make sure your children learn them. Talk about them when you are at home. Talk about them when you walk along the road. Speak about them when you go to bed. And speak about them when you get up. Write them down and tie them on your hands as a reminder. Also tie them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses. Also write them on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)

"A righteous man who walks in his integrity; how blessed are his sons [and daughters] after him" (Proverbs 20:7)
The father of the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) shall greatly rejoice, and he who becomes the father of a wise child shall have joy in him. (Proverbs 23:24)

To the son and daughter,

20My son, keep your father's [God-given] commandment and forsake not the law of [God] your mother [taught you].
21Bind them continually upon your heart and tie them about your neck.
22When you go, they [the words of your parents' God] shall lead you; when you sleep, they shall keep you; and when you waken, they shall talk with you.
23For the commandment is a lamp, and the whole teaching [of the law] is light, and reproofs of discipline are the way of life (Proverbs 6:20-23)
Praise God for the godly teaching!
